The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting mission-critical systems and programs. This role focuses on state-administered public assistance programs such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), Child Support, Child Welfare, and other related services.

Description and Job Skill Set

This position will be a subject matter expert in regard to systems that support SNAP, TANF, Child Support, Child Welfare, and others.

• Act as a SME for systems and processes supporting social and human services.

• Analyze, document, and evaluate business requirements across MDHS programs.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify process improvements and system enhancements.

• Support the development, implementation, and testing of new systems and upgrades.

• Provide guidance on policy and compliance as it pertains to public assistance programs.

• Serve as liaison between technical teams and program leadership.

Required Skills/Experience

Knowledge of the afore-mentioned areas of expertise with 20 years minimum experience, preferably within Mississippi government.
